The Student Government Officers (SGO) are very active in their quest to provide excellent service to students. Before this semester started, SG programs have already been conceptualized and made. Today, students can now feel the implementation of these programs. Below is the summary of the past activities that the Student Government Office accomplished so far for the month of July 2011:
  • Sponsored the First Friday Mass at the Del Carmen Hall. All mass offerings were provided by the Student Government Officers. It was attended by Sir Bien, faculty members, staff, and students. The mass was oficiated by Msgr. James Contreras. He focused his homily about the true beauty and love.

Oath taking of the new sets of officers of different clubs was also conducted and presided by the Guidance Counselors, headed by Mrs. Almira Cervantes.
  • In consonance with conservation of our environment, SG also initiated a Bulletin-Making Contest on July 13, with a theme `CONSERVE, REUSE & RECYCLE`. Each club was told to use recyclable materials as main decoration for their bulletin. The Computer Society (COMSOC) was declared winner and received Php. 500.00 cash, awarded by our College Dean, Ms. Girlie Malijan, and Student Government President, Mr. Percival Ocag.
  • On July 19, SG President conducted leadership and teambuilding meeting with his officers. The topic was about resolving conflict.
  • Meanwhile, on July 21, the SG Office launched the Lost and Found Service. Academic Couching Program was also initiated to cater to those students who failed in ComArts1. The tutors for this program are the Dean`s Listers.
  • The SG continuously provides support to students; thus, during the Battle of the Bands held at the rooftop of STI Building1, it provided marshals and ushers.
  • Its serious objective of providing good and conducive environment to the school, SG had a dialogue with the City Hall Administrative Assistant regarding a Proper Waste Disposal Seminar. The Student Government further requested waste cans from the City Mayor.
  • Finally, with regards to resolving conflict and issues, it resolved four (4) grievances filed by the students.

  • It becomes obvious that SGO are serious in their responsibility. It has been inculcated in them that their roles as student officers are not for a show. It is a serious business. Thus, they really work their heart to provide quality service to the students. Indeed, the Student Government works.
